Bert Sheffield:

I am a 35 year old Canadian Para Dressage rider living in the UK. I was part of the Canadian team at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, finishing 4th individually. I also compete in able-bodied ‘normal’ dressage up to advanced level. Last year, I qualified my horse, Double Agent, (Darcy) for the Rio Paralympics and we have met the Canadian team selection criteria 11 times (needed to do it 8 times!) so although you never know with horses and team selection, we are hoping to be going to Brazil in a few months.

I also have a wonderful young horse, Wonky, that I am working with in preparation for the 2018 Bromont WEG!  This horse is having an amazing journey from being wild in a herd to transforming into a dressage star. She has her own blog on one of my sponsor’s websites and maybe having her story made into a book to sell for charity.

I have written articles and comment pages for magazines and e-mags. Having a friendly photographer and also a very arty groom means that photos and videos to enhance content is easy to organise.

I am very lucky to have the support of some amazing companies. I only endorse products that I use and love, and they are all a wonderful stable of top quality, premium brands.

I am a CCI** level Canadian Eventer. My current horse is an 11 year old, grey, Thoroughbred Connemara cross gelding named Paddington aka. Paddy. I bought him in the summer of 2014 and brought him up to the two star level. In the short time I have had him, we have finished in the top three at multiple preliminary events including a 3rd place finish at the OHTA Championships at Will 'O' Wind HT in 2015. We completed three CCI*'s in 2015 including an 11th place finish out of 70 at Ocala Horse Properties, a finish at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, and a 2nd place finish in the CCI* at Hagyard Midsouth.

In 2015 we were the reserve champions of the OHTA Junior Preliminary leader board and were 6th on the USEA Preliminary leader board. To begin the 2016 season Paddy and I upgraded to the Intermediate level and completed the CIC** at Poplar Place HT in 8th and the Ocala Horse Properties International CCI** in 11th. I could not have accomplished any of these results without the help of my incredible sponsors including Kastel Denmark. I wear the Charlotte Collection shirts on a daily basis and in competition. The shirts keep me cool, comfortable and stylish. The wide range of colours keep me looking fresh and able to match any outfit.

Sydney Elliot:

Ever since I was a little girl, my passions in life have been horses and riding. I am truly fortunate to live each day doing what I love. Whether it’s starting young horses, educating them throughout their careers, competing or working with our local Pony Club my dreams are coming true. My training business is in Benton, Louisiana just two miles down the road from Holly Hill Farm. It’s a great area with wonderful people. I have always had upper-level competition goals set for myself.

One of my goals was recently accomplished when Cisko A and I completed our first Rolex Kentucky CCI4*. Cisko A is a 2006 Westphalian gelding owned by Carol Stephens. Cisko is truly one in a million and I couldn’t be more proud of him. The Stephens’ are so amazing and supportive; I wouldn’t be able to do this without them. Rolex has been of the best experiences of my life and I was fortunate to be surrounded by so many of my family and friends. I am excited to see what my eventing future has in store for us.
